Our Mission
The Modern Gentleman Magazine is more than a publication. We are a men’s mental health company dedicated to creating safe spaces, authentic conversations, and meaningful connections. Our mission is to redefine how men care for themselves and each other through storytelling, community, and events that inspire healing and growth.
The Founder's Story
Bradford C. Jacobs created The Modern Gentleman to address the unspoken challenges men face with mental health. For years, he struggled quietly, wishing there was a place where he could be honest about what he was going through without fear of judgment. Too often, men are told to stay silent, to “tough it out,” or to carry their burdens alone. That silence can be heavy, and it can be dangerous. He wanted to build something that would break that silence.
The Modern Gentleman began as a magazine exploring men’s mental health and lifestyle. As the conversations grew, it became clear that this was more than a publication. It was a community. Men from all walks of life started reaching out, sharing their stories, and connecting with one another. What started as pages of content turned into a movement: a platform where vulnerability is celebrated, where connection is possible, and where healing begins.
This brand was built from his own need for support, but it has grown into something much larger. It’s for every man who has ever felt alone in his struggles, for every person who believes men’s mental health deserves attention, and for every sponsor or partner who wants to make a real impact. The Modern Gentleman is about mental health, connection, and change.
Today, we are proud to serve tens of thousands of readers and host events that bring people together in meaningful ways. But at the heart of it all, our mission remains simple: to create a space where men can be vulnerable, find support, and know they are not alone. This is the movement he wish had existed when he needed it most and now, it’s here for all of us.

Issue 003 - ETRN $0.00
Connor Sweeney is a 23-year-old entrepreneur who is driven by his strong belief that meaningful experiences through playful adventure should be central to the human experience. He works to share these values through the development of his app, MUUVS, a healthy social tool that helps people get outside, connect with others, and discover Life’s Playground. Beyond MUUVS, Connor enjoys creative work, eating Chipotle, and swimming naked in the Long Island Sound. His hobbies include UI/UX design, wake surfing, writing music, running, playing basketball, and blowing off steam with his friends. As Connor would say, he is one-third of a “throuple” relationship between himself, his girlfriend, and the New York Knicks. His favorite quote is from Albert Einstein - “The most incomprehensible thing about the universe is that it is comprehensible.” Above all, Connor loves spending time with his family. The second oldest of eight siblings and the eldest son, Connor looks to set an example for his brothers and sisters to ensure they understand they can achieve their wildest dreams.

Mahan Mostafavi
Contributing Writer
Issue 004 - Don't Sweat It
I’m Mahan Mostafavi, a student at Lehigh University, from Long Island, New York. I like spending time going out with friends; I think the best time spent with someone is over a drink or out at dinner. In my free time, I enjoy reading newsletters, listening to podcasts, cooking, and playing soccer, basketball, or golf. I’ve played chess since first grade, and I’m always up for a friendly game. Right now, I’m also interested in writing Substack posts. I want to reconnect with the creative side of myself, where I can challenge myself in writing. Fun fact about me: I have three passports! Glad to be a part of the Modern Gentleman community.

His purpose is to help build a more humane, conscious, and healthy sporting culture, where the pursuit of achievement exists alongside the full development of the individual, in sport and life.
Our Impact
We partner with organizations that believe men’s mental health deserves more than awareness, it deserves action. The Modern Gentleman is building a movement where conversations turn into connection, and connection turns into real change. From 40,000 readers in our first year to a growing presence through live events, we are reaching men where they are and creating spaces where they can be honest, supported, and understood. Our partners don’t just align with the mission, they help drive it forward.
